She recounted the difficult phase when she learned about Sushant’s demise, sharing insights into their relationship and various aspects of that time.
The conversation began with K-pop singer Aoora asking Ankita if she blocks people on social media. Acknowledging this, she replied, “Yes, I block many people. I have blocked already.” Munawar Faruqui shared that he prefers to ignore rather than block. Hearing this, Aoora expressed, “Wow.”
Ankita then opened up about blocking numerous people during the challenging period following Sushant passing, explaining “I blocked many people at that time because I was subjected to hurtful comments, and I couldn’t handle it.” Munawar empathized, stating “That was a very bad time.”
Adding more context, Ankita revealed, “It was very difficult for anyone who was related to him (Sushant Singh Rajput). I was not there in his life when it all happened.” Munawar inquired about the timing of Sushant’s manager’s demise, and Ankita clarified that it occurred before his death, although she wasn’t his manager for long.
Ankita highlighted the challenges of dealing with online scrutiny, with Munawar acknowledging the internet’s detective mentality. The Pavitra Rishta actress agreed, emphasizing the tough period.
When Munawar asked about the breakup, Ankita disclosed, “We broke up on February 26, 2016, after dating for seven years since just a month after starting Pavitra Rishta.” She shared the pain of feeling left out as Sushant moved forward in his career, and the uncertainties they both faced.
Reflecting on Sushant’s demise, Ankita expressed the emotional impact, stating, “When I saw him, I felt everything was over. It looked like he’s sleeping, and there was this one picture that angered me, received on the day of his demise itself.”
Ankita described feeling numb after seeing that particular image of Sushant, contemplating the depth of his thoughts. She remarked “I knew him very well. He must have had so much in his brain, but all was vanished. You are nothing, you’re just a body then.”
