Chiranjeevi : This Guinness record is not what I expected. I think my interest in dance made me win this award. In the early days, I loved dancing more than acting.
I was used to listen to songs on the radio and dance. Even after joining NCC, I used to beat the drum with my plate after finishing my meal. During my first steps as an actor, I slipped and fell while dancing. Then Savitrigaru, Narasimharaju and Rojaramani who were at the location were looking at me. I fell down… I changed it into a nagin dance with the spirit of time… then everyone appreciated it.
Bollywood actor Aamir Khan presented this award to Chiranjeevi in the presence of Guinness World Records representatives at a program held in Hyderabad on Sunday. On this occasion, Chiranjeevi remembered his dancing glory. Krantikumar created a special duet for me in ‘Pranam Kharidu’ knowing his dancing skill. The distributor Lingamoorthy used to recommend me to the then director and producers saying that audiences were coming to the theaters for my dance.
My dance and my songs played a vital role in my success. I feel lucky to get a place in the world famous Guinness Records. Thanks to my friend Aamir Khan who made this request with just one phone call,” said Chiranjeevi. Aamir Khan said ‘I am a big fan of Chiranjeevi. When called for this ceremony, I said, ‘Don’t appeal, place the order’. Happy to be a part of this celebration. He enjoys every song and dances. That’s why this honour’, he praised. Also K. Raghavendra Rao, Allu Aravind, A. Kodandaramireddy, B. Gopal, C. Ashwanidat, D. Suresh Babu, K. S. Rama Rao, Tammareddy Bharadwaj, Shyamprasad Reddy, Gunasekhar, Bobby, Gemini Kiran, Maitri Ravi Shankar also participated in this ceremony.
