RTA has taken steps to provide vehicles for the Ganesh Nimajjanam festival. Along with the representatives of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsava Samiti, the transport authorities made arrangements to provide the required vehicles to the mandapams.
The vehicles will be given according to the demand received from the organizers of Mandapalas from different parts of Greater. Officials said that special centers will be set up for this purpose. The vehicles will be made available on Monday 16th in the background of immersion ceremony on 17th of this month. About 2,500 vehicles will be prepared.
Exercise for a week..
For a week, the officials have undertaken an exercise for the submersible vehicles. Focused on collection of various types of vehicles starting from heavy trailers to lorries and DCMs. For this purpose special teams have been constituted with Regional Transport Officers and Motor Vehicle Inspection Inspectors in Greater. It is expected that the demand for vehicles is likely to be higher this time than last year. Instead of waiting for vehicles till the last minute, the officials suggested that the organizers of the mandapams should give advance information to the representatives of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsava Samiti.
It is difficult to provide them on their own..
Even though the RTA arranges the vehicles, the mandapam managers arrange their own vehicles and transport the idols for immersion. There is no difficulty in moving small idols. But.. vehicles like trailers and tuskers are required for moving huge idols. It is also difficult to set them up on your own. RTA collects and delivers such vehicles. As per the suggestion of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsava Samiti, heavy trailers to Tatas will be handed over to the main mandapams of the city. To this extent, vehicle details will be made available in all regional transport offices in Greater Hyderabad. Mandapam managers can also coordinate with RTA officials for the vehicles they require.
