Education Update: Where as entry to IIT’s is imparted either by JEE, some short term and certificate courses do exist which does not make any demands on entrance through scores in JEE.
Short term and certificates courses from many IIT’s are open to a broad audience-from working professionals to scholars and even graduates. Here’s a glance at some of them.
IIT Madras: BSc in Data Science: The BSc Data Science offered by the institute is JEE score-free and requires Class 10 math skills, which one must have completed Class 12 to be eligible for admission. After joining the course, candidates must sit for a qualifier exam within a month.
The program has a three-stage model which includes foundational, diploma, and degree. It also has the flexibility to allow the exit of the program with a certificate, diploma, or degree according to their progress. Any age stream restriction is not applied. The cost of the entrance exam fee could be provided on the IIT Madras official website.
IIT Kanpur – AIML with Python: IIT Kanpur is offering online certification course in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning (AIML), and Python programming that starts from December 1.
The course is practical in nature with tools such as TensorFlow and Pandas. This programme is open to students, industry professionals, and R&D staff, not requiring prior programming experience. The course is scheduled to end on December 27.

IIT Roorkee: Generative AI & Machine Learning Certificate Program: The IIT Roorkee has devised a certificate course in generative AI and machine learning in collaboration with iHub Divya Sampark for 11 months. The course fee costs Rs 1,34,999. There will be virtual classes, hand-on projects, and two days of campus immersion. This program strictly targets all professionals and graduating students in the relevant fields. It imparts complete training in AI technologies.
IIT Delhi: UI/UX Design Certification: This certificate programme in UI/UX Design at IIT Delhi is scheduled to commence on November 23. Its fees are Rs 1,50,000 + GST and is eligible for graduates with more than one year of work experience. Participants must have 50 per cent attendance and a score of above 60% for a certificate. For non-achievers, there will be a certificate of participation.
IIT Kanpur: Certificate Program in Cloud Computing and DevOps: E & ICT Academy has come up with an eight-month certificate course in Cloud Computing and DevOps. The price is Rs 1,49,998, and there are no-cost EMI options available too. The applicant should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% of marks. More than 30 hands-on projects are there-like capstone projects in three different domains-and it is open to non-programming students also.
