Weather Alert Hyderabad : Due to the effect of low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal, life has come to a standstill due to the rains that have fallen in the last two days. At many places, streams and embankments were cut, causing serious disruption to traffic.
Torrential rains for 24 hours led to floods in Khammam, Nalgonda and Warangal districts. Due to this, people suffered a lot. But the Meteorological Department warns that another low pressure is on the horizon.
The Meteorological Center of Hyderabad has warned that Telangana will receive heavy rains for the next three days. Another low pressure is likely to form in West Central Bay of Bengal by Wednesday.
In this background, heavy rains are likely to occur in Adilabad, Kumrambhim, Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityala, Sangareddy, Medak and Kamareddy districts. It said that there is a possibility of thunder and lightning at many places across the state along with wind speed of 30 to 40 km per hour.
Adilabad, Asifabad, Manchiryala, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityala, Rajanna Sirisilla, Peddapalli, Bhupalapalli, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanmakonda, Janagam, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts will experience thunder and lightning on Tuesday. It is said that there is a possibility. To this extent yellow alert has been issued to the respective districts.
In the last 24 hours, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Jagityala, Nirmal, Siddipet and Medak districts received heavy to very heavy rains. The highest rainfall was recorded at 25.4 cm in Kamareddy district center, 24 cm in Sadashiv Nagar and 22.1 cm in Tumpalli of Nizamabad district.
Collectors should make advance plans as there is a possibility of heavy rains. It is advised to take precautions to avoid loss of life and property. He said that the conditions are likely to be severe with the coming heavy rains. He ordered to take strict action with police and other departments. Collectors should take decisions on declaring holidays for educational institutions.
As the gates of Swarna and Kadem project were opened, the people of the low-lying areas were ordered to move to safer areas. He said that they are sending a NDRF team with 31 members and 4 boats to Nirmal district. It has been suggested that 20 thousand cusecs of water is being released from the SSARESP project and if the quantity of water is more, it should be coordinated with the local authorities to take precautionary measures in the catchment areas.
He said that anyone who needs any kind of help from Hyderabad should contact them. Control rooms should be set up in the Collectorate and steps should be taken to ensure that they work 24 hours a day. Cranes were ordered to be kept ready for emergency use.
