Olympics 2024 : India won another medal in the Paris Olympics. 21-year-old Aman Serawat won bronze in wrestling. This is India’s sixth medal.
Puerto Rico’s wrestler Darien Toye defeated Puerto Rico wrestler Darian Toye 13-5 in the 57kg category yesterday to win the bronze medal. Aman is the only male wrestler to represent India in these competitions. In the semi-final held on Thursday, Aman was defeated by Japan’s top seed Rei Higuchi by a margin of 0-10, but in this match, he got the upper hand over his opponent without making any mistakes. Adi showed aggression from the start and defeated Darian to win the medal.
He dedicated this medal to his late parents and the people of the country. Aman became the seventh Indian wrestler to win a medal at the Olympics. In 1952, KD Jadhav won the bronze medal in the Olympic Games held at Helinxi. Jadhav’s name remains in the records as the wrestler who won the first medal in independent India. Also, another record has been added to the account of Aman who won the medal. He created a record as the youngest (21 years and 24 days) to receive an individual medal in the Olympics.
