Andhra Pradesh Assembly session in progress

AP Assembly Budget 2024: After the recent coalition government assumed power in Andhra Pradesh, the Assembly convened for a two-day session. Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, serving as Protem Speaker, administered the oath to newly elected MLAs. On the second day, TDP senior leader and former minister Ayyannapatrudu was unanimously elected as the Speaker. The session concluded following the swearing-in and Speaker election, with official announcements indicating the Assembly will reconvene next month.

The Assembly is expected to meet again during the third week of July; the precise dates will be confirmed by the government first. Due to election-related issues, the previous government was unable to present a complete AP budget, and the YCP government’s Oton Account interim budget is set to expire in July.

The current administration plans to introduce a comprehensive budget for Andhra Pradesh from August to March of the following year. This budget will encompass details of past government debts, corporation loans, revenue projections, and expenditure plans. The Assembly sessions slated for mid-July are intended to facilitate the approval of this forthcoming budget.
