AP CM Chandrababu conducted successive reviews on control of prices of sand, roads and essential commodities with ministers and officials. He directed that the people were facing many problems due to the policies of the previous government and to take immediate steps to solve them.
The CM reviewed the availability of sand in the state and the new sand policy. He said that the authorities should work fast so that the change in governance is visible. The officials explained the policies implemented in the supply of sand from 2014 to 2019 and the policies brought by the YCP government after that. The results of the free sand policy brought in 2016… Chief Minister Chandrababu pointed out the damage caused by the subsequent change of policies by the YCP government.
Officials revealed that the construction sector faced a crisis due to the shortage of sand and price burden due to the policies of the previous government. He said that due to the lack of transparency in the management of sand quarries and the handing over of sand quarries to private individuals and agencies, there have been difficulties in supply and sales.
He said that irregularities took place due to lack of proper CC cameras, GPS tracking and online system. Officials said that there was no observation or monitoring of how much excavations were carried out by private agencies and how much sales were made. Chief Minister Chandrababu directed the officials to take immediate steps to make sand available for the construction sector.
