Latest News in India: A chilling case comes from Bengaluru: The dismembered body of 29-year-old Mahalaxmi was found inside a flat. The differences between Mahalaxmi and her husband, Hemant Das, who had been living separately from her for close to nine months, remain shrouded in mystery.
It has been stated that she was reportedly in a live-in relationship with a man named Ashraf during this period. The man is said to be from Uttarakhand. Mahalaxmi’s son Hemant quoted stating he saw Mahalaxmi around a month ago when she went over to his shop to meet their daughter. He confirmed that Mahalaxmi was staying in the flat where the body was found with Ashraf.
It was upon entering that officers were shocked to find Mahalaxmi’s body cut into 30 pieces in such a horrific state. At first, a foul smell coming from the flat had alerted neighbors who immediately called the police, suspicious of the odor. The police then broke down the door. What happened has devastated the community; disturbing images from the crime scene have been widely circulated in social media networks. But the pictures are too graphic to be shared herein.
Hemant Das explained that Mahalaxmi and Ashraf had filed a complaint against him earlier, for which he was not coming to Bengaluru. Hemant clarified that the marriage between him and Mahalaxmi had been going on for nearly six months but a number of issues had led to the couple getting separated. He feels Ashraf killed Mahalaxmi due to a blackmail case she had filed against him a few months ago.
Police Commissioner Dayanand stated the probe was conducted thoroughly. He confirmed that the main culprit has been identified, but efforts are still on for his arrest. However, he refused to disclose the identity of the culprit referring to him an outsider and that more pieces of information cannot be shared with the public. Home Minister G. Parameshwara summed it up by stating that the police have gathered substantial evidence, which can unseal more information after further investigation.
