Bypoll results for 13 Assembly constituencies in 7 states across the country will be out soon. Counting of votes started on Saturday in these seats. As this is the first test that the ruling NDA and the opposition India Alliance faced after the general elections, there is interest in these results.
By-election polling was held on July 10 for four seats in West Bengal, three seats in Himachal Pradesh, two seats in Uttarakhand, one each in Punjab, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh. Counting started at 8 am on Saturday.
I.N.D.I.A. Alliance is in power in four states, while the NDA government is in power in three other states.
According to the results released so far..
- JDU candidate continues to lead in Bihar’s Rupauli seat.
- BJP is leading in Dehra, Himachal and Congress candidates are leading in Hamirpur.
- Aam Aadmi Party candidate continues to lead in Jalandhar, Punjab.
- A DMK leader is at the forefront in Vikravandi, Tamil Nadu.
- In Maniktala, Baghda, Ranaghat Dakshin, Raiganj in West Bengal, TMC candidates are leading in all four places.
- Congress candidate is leading in Mangalore, Uttarakhand.
