Latest News in India: Seven-tier security at the Chennai Airport has been set up from Friday given India’s 78th Independence Day. In that regard, officials asked domestic passengers to reach an hour and a half in advance and international passengers three and a half hours in advance. From Trishulam to Meenambakkam, Bomb Squad, and Dog Squad teams take part in the duties at domestic and international airports and cargo and aircraft refueling areas.
The Central Home Ministry received the confidential information that there is a possibility of a terrorist attack to disrupt the 78th Independence Day celebrations of the country on the 15th of this month. Due to this, security has been tightened at airports, railway stations, bus stands, high-traffic areas, temples, churches, and mosques across the country. Given this, seven-tier security has been established at the Chennai airport from Friday. Five-step security is already in place in the area as the Chennai airport has received ten bomb threats in the last two months.
In this regard, seven-tier security has been established on the occasion of Independence Day. Local police outside the airport and central industrial forces patrol inside. Vehicles arriving at the airport are stopped at the entrance gate and allowed in only after checking by security forces. Passengers’ luggage is being checked with metal detectors. Entry of visitors has already been banned due to airport security.
