Delhi Chief Minister Atishi was denied permission by the police to meet environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is in police custody.
The Delhi CM who went to meet Wangchuk was stopped by the police. Sources of the Aam Aadmi Party disclosed this. Sonam Wangchuk and her supporters started a march in Leh on 1st of last month to get their demands met. They are demanding that Ladakh be included in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.
It is said to empower the local population to make laws to protect their land and cultural identity. Police detained Som Wangchuck and several followers who started the march with these demands. Chief Minister Atishi went to Bawana Police Station to meet Wangchuk. But Aam Aadmi Party sources revealed that she was stopped by the police.
