State Education, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh has announced that Dussehra holidays will be given to schools from October 3.
It was decided in this meeting to give Dussehra holidays from October 3 as per the request of teachers and unions. Officials said that they should focus on creating minimum infrastructure in government schools. Minister Lokesh held a high-level review at his residence with officials on measures to be taken to strengthen school education.
Minister Lokesh said… First schools should be made leak-proof, benches should be arranged in government schools, fresh water and toy lets should be provided in full, computer labs should be set up and additional classrooms should be focused on as per the need. He ordered to set up computer labs in schools and study the process of internal assessment through them. He said that the performance of Srikakulam Municipal Elementary School and Akanambattu High School, which he conducted surprise inspections recently, was good.
In Srikakulam Municipal Elementary School, which was visited yesterday, the handwriting and performance of the students is good, and it is suggested to examine the issue of improving the handwriting of the students with copy books and drawing books across the state. It is said that the teachers of Srikakulam school have repaired the classrooms with only Rs.50 thousand.
During the previous government’s rule, Nadu-Nedu, despite spending a large amount of money through centrally sponsored schemes, why the number of students in government schools decreased, the authorities were advised to find out and correct the error. He said that mega parent-teacher meetings will be held across the state on November 14 for strengthening government schools and getting better results.
He said that everyone from the Chief Minister to the ward member will be involved. He said that a review will be conducted every quarter on the improvement of results in schools. The strengthening of libraries from village level to district level in the state was discussed.
He said that if a small amount of money is spent, it will be very useful for the unemployed youth. It has been decided to set up a world class central library with state-of-the-art facilities in Amaravati soon. KPMG representatives Narayanan and Soumya gave a power point presentation on the statewide Learning Excellence in Andhra Pradesh (LEAP) programme.
Education road map, 117 GEO, teacher transfers, promotions, TET, Mega DSC management were discussed in the meeting. As part of Swarnandhra, discussions were also held on the issue of designing a school-wise vision document.
The authorities were directed to organize the National Education Day on November 11 and honor the best teachers as they could not celebrate Teacher’s Day due to floods. School Education Secretary Kona Sasidhar, Commissioner Vijayaramaraju and State Project Director of Inclusive Education Srinivasa Rao participated in this meeting.
