National News: For the first time after a standoff of more than four years, patrolling has started on the India-China border. The Indian Army on Monday resumed patrolling at Depsong, one of the key points along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) as India and China deployed forces. Indian Army sources said that Indian forces carried out a patrol at Patrol Point 10 (PP10) in Depsang, another important step towards maintaining peace and stability along the disputed border. There are a total of 5 key patrol points in Depsang Maidan. There are PP10, PP11, PP11A, PP12 and PP13. All these points are very important for India’s border security interests. After the Galvan Valley clash, India has been unable to patrol these areas properly for years. continues to be very limited. Now the resumption of patrolling at PP10 points is a positive development. “The resumption of patrolling at this point is another positive step towards maintaining peace and stability along the LAC,” a defense official opined.
It is known that a crucial acceptance agreement was reached between India and China on October 21 for the withdrawal of forces along the LAC. This agreement was reached after long negotiations at the military and diplomatic levels. The next day, the Chinese government also issued a statement finalizing the agreement. As a result, the armies of both countries went back to their positions before the Galvan Valley clash. Tents and temporary military structures erected during the standoff were demolished by Indian and Chinese forces. Indian and Chinese soldiers also exchanged sweets at various points along the border on Diwali.
