Rajgir (Bihar): The Indian women’s hockey team has created another sensation with consecutive victories in the Asia Champions Trophy. Our girls defeated the Olympic silver medalist China. India defeated China 3-0 in the match held on Saturday. It became the table topper with 8 points from four matches. Sangeeta Kumari (32nd minute), captain Salima Tete (37th) and Deepika (60th) scored goals. India will face Japan in the fifth and final match of the league stage on Sunday. Since the beginning of the game, India broke out with an attacking game. China was limited to defense. In the first minute, India got consecutive penalty corners but could not score any goals. Although China also scored a penalty corner in the first quarter, India blocked it effectively. And, in the second quarter, Manisha’s flick was blocked by China’s keeper, and the chance to score was missed. The first half ended goalless. However, in the third quarter, India progressed harmoniously and achieved a suitable result. In other matches, Japan defeated Malaysia 2-1 and Korea defeated Thailand 4-0.
