Telangana latest news : Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has ordered the State Government Chief Secretary, DGP, Municipal, Power, Panchayat Raj, Hydra and Irrigation Department officials to be on alert 24 hours in the wake of incessant rains in the state.
He conducted an emergency review on the rains on Sunday. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Wickramarka, Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Tummala Nageswar Rao, Damodara Rajanarasimha and Jupalli Krishna Rao spoke on phone and inquired about the situation. Collectors, SPs, Revenue, Irrigation and Municipal officials in the districts have been ordered to be available 24 hours at the field level.
He asked that none of the officers should take leave and those who took leave should cancel it immediately and engage in relief activities. It is suggested that the officials of the emergency services departments should be available at the field level and constantly review and inform the CM’s office from time to time. People have been requested not to come out of their homes unless it is an emergency. The people of the hinterlands were asked to be vigilant and give information to the authorities over the phone in case of any need. Ministers, MPs, MLAs and MLCs have been ordered to stay in the locality and monitor the relief efforts. Congress workers are advised to participate in relief activities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inquired about the rains and flood conditions in the state and the damage caused by them. On Sunday night, he called CM Revanth Reddy and inquired about the details. CM Revanth explained to the Prime Minister the damage caused by heavy rain and flood in many districts. He informed the immediate relief measures and precautions taken by the state government without any inconvenience or loss of life to the people. It was explained to the Prime Minister that most of the damage has occurred in Khammam district.
The Prime Minister appreciated the state government machinery for acting vigilantly to avoid loss of life. The Prime Minister assured that helicopters will be sent to provide services in adverse weather conditions. Necessary assistance will be provided on behalf of the central government. Meanwhile, TPCC has asked all the party workers to be vigilant and protect the people in the face of large-scale rains in the state. To this extent, TPCC President and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy along with Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Uttamkumar Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Seethakka called on the party cadre.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah called CM A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday night to explain the flood situation to Amit Shah . After inquiring about the situation of rains and floods, he promised to provide the necessary immediate assistance. On this occasion, CM Revanth explained to Amit Shah the damage caused due to rains and floods in the state.
