It is a satire on the patriarchal system. Kiran Rao, who directed ‘Dhobi Ghat’ which came before the audience in 2011, is a film made after 13 years. Although limited to mixed responses at the box office, it was well received at the OTT. ‘There are no star heroes in this.. there are no glamor roles. Kiran said on several occasions that many people used to give advice to Aamir that whether the audience will accept it at all…or…it should be released directly in OTT.
