Latest News in India: UN General Assembly Chief Dennis Francis has lauded the digital revolution in rural India. He said 800 million people in India have been lifted out of poverty in the last five to six years due to the use of smartphones alone. Those who were earlier away from banking are now doing online transactions related to businesses through smartphones. He also called for other countries to take similar steps.
