Latest News in India: A terrible accident came to light in Varanasi, UP. Two houses collapsed near Kashi Vishwanath temple on Monday late at night. It is reported that eight people were buried alive in this incident, while five others were trapped under the rubble. The accident took place at the Khoya Gully intersection under Chowk Police Station. NDRF and local police teams reached the spot and tried to evacuate the injured. Efforts have been made to take many injured people to the hospital.
Officials said that the 4th gate of Sri Kashi Vishwanatha Temple was closed in such circumstances. For devotees visiting the temple, entry is given from Gate No. 1 and 2. The rescue operation is still going on at the accident site. It is reported that three women are among the injured, according to the information given by the police.
The two collapsed houses belonged to Rajesh Gupta and Manish Gupta. These houses are said to be around 70 years old. When two houses collapsed in the middle of the night, the locals immediately reported the matter to the police. The authorities were informed and the road leading to the street was closed. Officials are conducting a rescue operation at the scene.
