In a short while after the start of football match at Peru, there started heavy rain. It was then that the referee of that game asked the players to stop the play and go to their dressing rooms where they were since still in the field.
Meanwhile, when both the teams players were walking back to the dugout, lightning struck from the sky and Jose Hugo de la Cruz Mesa (jose-hugo-de-la-cruz-mesa) got struck by it. Lightning struck on the head of that legendary player and he fell down on the field. After which he was taken to the hospital instantaneously, but the doctor instantly declared him dead.
Another player’s life is in danger: 39-year-old Jose Hugo de la Cruz Mesa died after being hit by lightning but according to reports, goalkeeper Juan Choca also suffered severe burn injuries in the accident and is currently admitted to the ICU.
