Andhra Pradesh Latest News : The race for the MLC seat in Visakha is getting intense as the election date approaches. The YSRCP has chosen senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana as their candidate, but the big question is who from the NDA alliance will run against him.
This is to occur on August 30 while the nominations are to be opened on August 13 and the votes are to be counted on September 3. The elections will entail votes from the Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation, Yalamanchili and Narsipatnam Municipalities as well as ZPTCs and MPTCs. YSRCP has 615 votes where 841 votes have cast till date and with TDP, Jana Sena and BJP tallying 215. YSRCP has experienced a better position but political rut has changed and there is a lot of competition.
YSRCP’s Botsa, a former minister, was selected over other potential candidates like former Minister Amarnath. On the NDA side, TDP leader Gandi Babji is a leading contender. Babji, who was previously an MLA, was promised a key role by the TDP high command. Another strong candidate is Seethamraju Sudhakar, who switched from YSRCP to TDP and now leads TDP in Visakhapatnam South.
There are also mentions of Pila Govind from Anakapalli and senior leaders like Dashir Veerabhadra Rao and minority leader Nazir. However, TDP leadership seems to believe that Gandi Babji has the best chance to challenge Botsa effectively.
