Business: GKB Opticals, an eyewear retailer, recently held events at its stores in Mumbai and Bengaluru to mark the launch of Montblanc’s new collection. It is a premium line to commemorate the 100th year of its signature brand ‘Meisterstück’ pens under the artistic direction of Marco Tomasetta.
A group of premium shoppers thronged GKB Opticals’ stores in Oberoi Mall in Mumbai and Indiranagar in Bengaluru for the preview of Montblanc’s new eyewear line, the business announced in a statement. The event was a part of GKB Opticals’ new exclusive preview series, which invites select shoppers to engage with a brand’s collection and heritage. Shoppers can pre-order the limited edition line, which features details such as rings and a nib designed to reference the form of the Meisterstück pen.
“Drawing on the rich heritage of the German House, the collection features an exquisite array of sunglasses and optical frames that herald Montblanc’s commitment to craftsmanship and innovation,” reads the business in a press release. This collection includes limited-edition eyewear created in honor of Meisterstück’s centenary. Its unique resin-finished motifs and bright colors take inspiration from the legendary fountain pen that symbolizes timeless luxury.
GKB Opticals was started by Brijendra Kumar Gupta in Kolkata in 1968. The business has more than 90 stores in India and sells a number of international and Indian brands.
