Nara Lokesh Takes Charge As State Minister

Nara Lokesh began his new job on Monday at the State Secretariat in Andhra Pradesh. He is the son of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and is also the General Secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Before officially taking charge, Lokesh performed a traditional puja ceremony. His first task was signing a file related to the recruitment of 16,347 teachers, which will be discussed in the upcoming state Cabinet meeting.


Lokesh, who won as an MLA from Mangalagiri constituency in Guntur district, holds an MBA from Stanford University. He was elected to the legislative assembly for the first time this term. He had previously held ministerial positions in his father’s government and served in the Legislative Council. Prior to assuming his official position, Lokesh has been developing strategies to advance the field of education. In an effort to address persistent issues in the educational system, he has been meeting with representatives from the department of education and intends to speak with parents and student unions about the matter.
