The state government is promoting free travel in RTC buses for women. At the field level, however, women continue to face difficulties. A family who had come to visit Vemulawada Rajanna tried to board an RTC bus at Jagityala bus stop on Monday evening.
On this occasion, the female conductor who was on duty in the bus forced the family members down by saying, ‘Free… there is no free journey… there are inspection officers in front… if they see them, they will be fined Rs. 500’.
The entire incident went viral after the passengers took a video and posted it on social media. But God knows the word of travel. It is reported that Vemulawada RTC depot manager Muralikrishna called the conductor and inquired about this matter.
