Former YCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, who was involved in the EVM vandalism case among others, has been transferred to Nellore Central Jail. His four bail pleas were denied by the High Court just before his arrest and subsequent appearance at the SP’s office. Later that night, he was taken to Macherla court where he was remanded for 14 days. The heavy security escort continued as he was moved to Nellore Central Jail.
On May 13, during the AP general elections, Pinnelli caused disruption at a polling center in Rentakintala mandal Palvaigate by damaging an EVM. He also assaulted TDP agent Namburi Seshagiri Rao who tried to intervene, and verbally abused a woman named Nagashiromani outside the polling station.
Initially absconding after the incidents, he was granted conditional bail by the court and returned to Macherla. Despite applying for bail in four cases against him, all were rejected by the High Court, leading to his arrest and subsequent transfer to Nellore Central Jail by police authorities.
