On July 30, 226 people were killed in the landslide incident in Wayanad, while 197 body parts were found by rescue workers. 78 people are receiving treatment in hospitals. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi thanked Prime Minister Modi for going to Wayanad to learn about the terrible tragedy. Rahul said that this is a good decision. Rahul Gandhi expressed hope that once the Prime Minister saw the destruction first-hand, he would declare it a national calamity.
