The coalition government that has recently taken power in AP has been receiving good news from the Centre. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari gave his approval for new projects along with the already pending road projects in the state during CM Chandrababu‘s Delhi tour.
Another Union Minister agreed in principle to set up a Rs.60 thousand crore project in the state. Actions on this will be started soon.
Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has agreed to set up a BPCL refinery at the cost of Rs.60 thousand crores in Machilipatnam, the center of Krishna district. CM Chandrababu, who is on a visit to Delhi, met him yesterday. On this occasion, Chandrababu brought to his attention that there is a possibility of undertaking many projects by taking advantage of the long coastal area in the state. The Union Minister also agreed to this.
Along with Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashauri, Chandrababu met Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. In this, the Union Minister said that 2 to 3 thousand acres of land will be required for setting up the BPCL project in the port. Bandar MP Balashauri told the Union Minister that he is ready to allocate more than that. Hardeep Singh Puri promised to make an official announcement on this soon. The project is expected to be completed in four years.
In fact, it seems that the Chandrababu government has proposed to shift Kakinada to the port due to its proximity to the capital and availability of land, although the Center initially chose Kakinada for this huge project. Bandar MP Balashauri revealed that with the arrival of BPCL refinery, it will be possible to create jobs on a large scale in the capital region.
