CM Chandrababu has expressed grief that he has never seen a Chief Minister destroying the environment and building a palace for luxury. CM Chandrababu along with ministers and MLAs inspected the buildings constructed on Rushikonda during the previous Vaikapa government. Later he spoke to the media.
“Something that no one could have imagined happened. One can see how a person plans for a luxurious life by seeing the buildings here. Heartbreaking truths are coming out. In the past, no matter how hard the media and others tried, they did not know what they were doing on Rushikonda. The NGT, the High Court and the central government have been fooled. The situation here is an example of how a state government can be obstructed.
Me and my friend Pawan Kalyan also tried to come here. No one was allowed to come. It is necessary to tell the people what happened here today.. The people have given us that power. Rushikonda Beach is the most beautiful area in Visakhapatnam. Wherever you sit in the buildings, you can see the sea view. Earlier even kings and emperors did not build such buildings.
“A man did such things for his own selfishness. It is unimaginable that such luxurious buildings are being built. Building such buildings with public money is outrageous. I was surprised and excited to see these buildings. 36 lakhs were spent for the bathtub. Fancy fans. I have never seen such chandeliers anywhere. Marbles for the buildings were brought from abroad. I have traveled to many countries.. I have seen many leaders, but no one has built such palaces. Even the elders of Delhi stayed at the Navy Guest House in Visakhapatnam. It has been said many times that it was built for tourism. Do those who want to support the poor build something like this?
“The previous government did not even spend Rs. 400 crores on projects in Uttarandhra. If these funds are spent, filling potholes on the roads would be completed. Do such people work in politics? People should think. We will show these buildings to everyone.
I don’t understand what to use them for. I do not understand why the camp office is being built here. If there is a lot of fear of people, then answer. They built a small palace in the past by looting public money. These things were built with the illusion of staying in power forever. They have done such wrong things to cheat the people of Visakha,” Chandrababu criticized.
