Sports News: Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: Shreyanka Patil of India and Fatima Sana of Pakistan shared a heart-warming gesture for each other, which shows the bond they share.
A young cricketer from Pakistan recently had to face a hard personal loss with her father passing away. She did not participate in the women’s T20 World Cup 2024 match against Australia as she had already returned to her hometown Karachi to be present at her father’s funeral.
Shreyanka Patil, who played in her debut World Cup, gave the Pakistan skipper a painting with, “Do what you love-Shreay 31”. Fatima appreciated this gesture and said, “Thank you, Shreyanka, for this beautiful gift and the message.”.
While reacting to this post, Shreyanka too shared an adorable message for her friend and said, “You are lovely Fatima. Can’t wait to catch up again”.
Fatima contributed significantly for her team at the World Cup but could not qualify for the semifinal with her team. She played three matches and scored 64 runs at an average of 21.33 and a strike rate of 125.33. Her highest score was 30 runs against Sri Lanka.
The cricketing fraternity appreciated the pluck that Fatima showed in ignoring the conditions, as she returned to play for the high-voltage clash against New Zealand. She was also seen crying even before the game started.
At the same time, Shreyanka too had a disastrous time at the ongoing mega-event as the Women in Blue failed to qualify for the knockout stages. In order to qualify, they were supposed to defeat Australia, and if they lost they were knocked out in the group-stage matches.
Four matches into the tournament and Shreyanka picked four wickets, but it was her best figures in the high-octane clash against arch-nemesis Pakistan in Dubai last week.
