Andhra Pradesh latest news : The High Court has directed the GVMC officials to take action regarding the concrete protection wall erected by Penaka Nehareddy, daughter of Vaikapa Rajya Sabha member Vijayasai Reddy, in violation of CRZ (Coastal Regulation Zone) rules at Bhimili beach in Visakha district.
It directed to submit a level report detailing the steps taken in the case of demolition. The next hearing was adjourned to September 11. A bench comprising Chief Justice of the High Court Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur and Justice Chimalapati Ravi issued the order on Friday. Janasena corporator Murthy Yadav has filed a PIL in the High Court, alleging that the authorities are not taking any action despite the permanent construction near Bhimili beach.
In the hearing held on Friday, Ponnada Srivyas, advocate for the petitioner, heard the arguments. He said that the GVMC authorities have ordered the demolition of the structures. Challenging them, Nehar Reddy filed a petition before the single judge, and the single judge did not issue an interim order in this case, it was reported. After considering these details, the bench decided to take action against the illegal construction in the absence of stay orders.
