Controversial decisions taken by Titi’s previous governing body are coming to light one by one. It is being argued that the decision taken on the sale of morning service tickets in the board meeting chaired by Chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy in January is like giving a license to the black market. Devotees have to pay Rs 1 crore on normal days and Rs 1.5 crore on Fridays to participate in Swami’s morning services. People who get this ticket can participate in all the services conducted to the Lord from morning to night on the day they have fixed for 25 years for one day in a year. Suprabhatam, Morning Archana, Tomala and Ekanta Seva are performed regularly at dawn for Sri.
However, devotees are allowed for Archana and Tomala services only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There is a special puja on Monday, Ashtadal Padapadmaradhana on Tuesday, Tiruppavada on Thursday and Abhishek services on Friday. Thithide released 531 morning service tickets online after Vaikapa came to power. Out of this 28 tickets are for Friday and 503 are for other weeks. Tickets for Friday are fully booked. Blocking this demand, the board of the day tied 19 vital service tickets offline for those who had previously booked and passed away. It was sold at the rate of Rs.1.50 crore without proper publicity. As the fifth Friday also comes in some months, there were 24 tickets for Taluk on that day, while 8 were given in January.
What is the threshold of change of devotees?
Usually, only five people who have registered their names online in advance, along with the ticketed devotee, are allowed into the morning services. As per the board’s resolution last January, ticket holders can take different people along for different services from morning to night. If about 6 services will be held depending on the respective weeks, 30 people have been given the opportunity to change at the rate of five people per service. Suprabhatam, Tomala, Archana, Ashtadal Padadamaradhana, Dolotsavam, Sahasra Dipalankarana, Pavalimpu. It means that the person who bought the ticket, in view of the demand for the respective services, taking different people along for different services, it seems that the board has shown a way to get back the money he paid to Titi from them. Devotees hope that the NDA government will review these decisions and curb the irregularities.
