NRI Latest News: The US presidential elections have already taken place, with the Republican candidate Donald Trump succeeding in coming back to the White House. In a close contest, he defeated Kamala Harris and led the race for securing the decisive number of electoral votes.
But the election has brought out a report of support by Muslim voters for Trump. In particular, Trump beat Kamala Harris in the polls in Michigan, a state where Muslims live in vast numbers. This is significant because normally, the Democrats win Michigan because of the size of this community.
The recent past saw Trump invite Muslim leaders to his rallies and voice his concerns over the futility of American foreign policy. He declared how he believes Muslim voters are disappointed with the approach of the Biden administration. In Dearborn, he went ahead and boasted that Arab Muslim voters will flip the polls. Interestingly enough, Dearborn was last year’s city with the largest population.
A senior Muslim leader stated that Trump is a strong supporter of peace and declared that Muslims would support him. The candidate further vowed to find peace for Gaza and Ukraine.
Many Arab Muslims and Muslims living in the Middle East have been disappointed as the Biden administration has supported Israel in the Gaza conflict.
