Andhra Pradesh government is taking strict action against objectionable social media posts and tweets. While cases are being registered on this type of posts across the state, the police are arresting many.
In this development, there are mostly YSRCP sympathizers. Recently, a case was also registered against film director Ram Gopal Varma. A case was registered under the IT Act at the Maddipadu police station in Prakasam district. Ram Gopal Varma has allegedly made social media posts denigrating the personalities of Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Nara Lokesh, and Brahmani during the promotions of his latest film Strategy.
On this allegation, Telugu Desam Party Maddipadu Mandal General Secretary Ramalingam filed a complaint with the police, who registered a case and started investigation.
Another case has also been registered against Ram Gopal Varma:
While the crackdown on social media continues in Andhra Pradesh, another case has been registered against film director Ramgopal Varma. This time, Telugu Desam Party’s Rythu Wing Vice President Nutalapati Rama Rao complained that Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and Nara Lokesh posted obscene posts at Tullur police station in Guntur district. On receiving the complaint, Tullur police registered a case against Verma and started investigation.
Currently, as cases have been registered against Ramgopal Varma in various police stations, the film director has to give a clear response on the issue of these cases.
