Latest News in India: Voting for parliamentary elections has commenced in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Today, precisely at 7am, voting has commenced. The exercise will be held until 18:00. Even after 18:00, officers manning the elections will allow those in queue to vote.
A decade later, Assembly elections in the state were held in Jammu and Kashmir. Advance notifications for all three phases were issued by the Central Election Commission. Arrangements were made according to that.
In the first phase, as many as 23,27,580 voters will exercise their franchise at 14,000 polling stations. Of them, 11,76,462 are men and 11,51,058 are women. As many as 3,276 polling stations were established. As many as 90 constituencies are there. The constituencies Pampore, Tral, Pulwama, Rajpora, Jainapora, Shopian, Dhopora, Kulgam, Devsar, Duru, Kokernag, Anantnag West, Anantnag, Srigufwara-Shangas-Anant, Pahalgam, Inderwal, Kishtawar, Padder-Nagseni, Bhadarwa, Doda, Doda West, Ramban and Banihal go to polls today.
