Although it didn’t reach the heights of bigger coffee brands, it was a testament to Nina’s determination and entrepreneurial spirit.
Life took a difficult turn for Nina when her husband, Bhadrashyam Kothari, passed away from cancer in 2015. Left to raise their two children, Arjun and Nayantara, Nina took charge of her family’s business.
On April 8, 2015, Nina became the Chairperson of Kothari Sugars and Chemicals Limited, a significant moment in her career. Under her leadership, the business thrived, becoming the flagship company of the HC Kothari Group. Kothari Sugars and Chemicals is now a well-established company based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Nina’s influence doesn’t stop at Kothari Sugars. She also plays a key role in other businesses under the HC Kothari Group, such as Kothari Petrochemicals Limited and Kothari Safe Deposits Limited.
Her son Arjun is now the Managing Director of Kothari Sugars, working closely with his mother to continue the family legacy. Her daughter, Nayantara, is married to Shamit Bhartia, part of the Bhartia family and grandson of KK Birla.
