Business Updates: WhatsApp, from time to time, brings new features, but till now, we used to connect with the other person on WhatsApp with a phone number. But, according to the company, it no longer requires such. Just a pin is enough.
To message others on WhatsApp, you need their phone number. You can send a message even if they do not give any permission. But even if there is no phone number, WhatsApp is working on another new feature for connecting with another person. It will give WhatsApp users an advanced username feature with PIN support. This is an amazing feature, removing the need to share a phone number. WhatsApp also shared a screenshot of this new feature on WABetaInfo.
There were some reports a few days ago that WhatsApp was working on usernames. Now, there is a big update regarding this feature. According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is soon going to bring an advanced username feature with PIN support for users. WABetaInfo spotted this new feature in WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.24.18.2 on the Google Play Store. WABetainfo has shared screenshots of these features coming to WhatsApp in an ex-post.
No phone number is required:
Here, you can note that WhatsApp will soon be coming up with an advanced username feature for phone number privacy. People can connect with you on WhatsApp through your user name after this feature is put into place. This is a great feature because it removes the really important need for sharing phone numbers. This feature is going to be very useful for talking with new people on WhatsApp. Because they don’t even know your phone number. Only the username is visible. Note that once this feature is activated, people who already have your phone number will be able to see your number.
I can’t see the number:
Furthermore, the company will be adding a unique pin code under the username feature so that a user’s privacy is enhanced. This PIN gives more privacy to the username. So, new people won’t see your number. A username can be hidden with a four-digit PIN. You can share this pin with anyone to whom you want to show your number. Remember that the PIN will not share your personal information as part of the two-step verification.
Users should receive a PIN:
According to the Wabetainfo report, users will fail to view incoming messages from unknown numbers on WhatsApp. Upon the activation of the PIN feature, the first contact that connects with a user’s username will type a PIN. In this case, the user would share the PIN with the sender. The PIN feature does not work with already-communicative contacts. The feature is being developed by the company as we speak. A stable version will be released to users after beta testing.
