- Vijayawada: Vishwa Hindu Parishad Central Joint Secretary Dr. Surendra Jain has demanded that all temples in the state should be handed over to Hindu communities. He said that steps will be taken for this from Vijayawada. It has been revealed that a huge public meeting under the name of Hindava Sankharavam will be held in Vijayawada on January 5 with the demand of handing over the temples to Hindu communities. He spoke to the media at a private hotel in Vijayawada on Saturday. Surendra Jain said that the Tirumala Laddu controversy has hurt the sentiments of Hindus. He accused the governments of misusing the income of the temples.
In order for Sanatana Dharma to flourish, the temples should be maintained by the Hindu communities. He said that non-Hindus are managing the temples owned by the government and TTD is also in these lists. Surendra Jain demanded to form an independent committee for the management of TTD. He said that the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is managed by a similar committee. VHP state president Obilishetty Srivenkateshwarlu, secretary TS Ravikumar, VHP central secretary, former MP Gokaraju Gangaraju and central committee members Y. Raghavu participated in the meeting.
