Though instructions on these packets advise one to throw them away immediately, they might prove useful around the house for several things. Just keep it out of reach of children.

1. Silica works best to drain the moisture out from a wet phone. Just dab extra water with a soft cloth. Use a towel to separate the battery. Place the phone along with the battery inside a zip-lock bag and put a silicon gel packet in it. Leave overnight and turn on the next morning.
