Bollywood action star Akshay Kumar’s much-anticipated film “Surfira” hit theaters worldwide today. The movie is a Hindi remake of Tamil star Suriya’s critically acclaimed “Soorarai Pottru.” Directed by Sudha Kongara, “Surfira” had generated significant pre-release buzz among fans.
However, in a shocking turn of events, Akshay Kumar tested positive for Covid-19 just as the film released. The actor, who was actively promoting the movie, is now isolated at home. This development has naturally disappointed fans who were eagerly waiting to see him on the big screen.
Despite Akshay’s absence, “Surfira” has still opened in theaters today. The film features Radhika Madan as the leading lady, alongside Paresh Rawal, Seema Biswas, and Prakash Belawadi in supporting roles. The project is a collaborative production between Suriya, Jyothika, Aruna Bhatia, and Vikram Malhotra.
