Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s action-packed thriller “Kill” introduces Lakshya in a powerful debut role. Initially set to debut in the now-canceled “Dostana 2,” Lakshya makes a striking first impression in this intense film.

“Kill” appears to be a gripping crime thriller, reminiscent of an Indian version of “Train to Busan.” Lakshya plays a relentless fighter, creating chaos on a regular passenger train in India.

The trailer begins with a tender moment where Lakshya wishes his wife, Tanya Maniktala, a happy fourth wedding anniversary at their home in Mumbai. This brief happy scene soon shifts as they board a train to an unknown destination. Their journey turns dark when a gang led by Raghav Juyal attacks them. An injured Tanya is pulled away, leaving a bloody handprint on the glass door.

Lakshya then goes on a rampage, taking down the attackers one by one. The violence extends from the compartment to the lobby and even into the small restroom. Using knives, an oxygen cylinder, and fire, Lakshya becomes a one-man army. In a particularly brutal scene, he drives a knife into a man’s eyes and sets another’s head on fire. Both the passengers and the attackers, including Raghav, are shocked by Lakshya’s deadly skills. Brief glimpses suggest he has a defense background, but his full story remains unknown.

“Kill” is co-produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment, and presented by Lionsgate Films. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, receiving praise as a “wild action flick” and “brutally violent” by international reviewers. This film marks the official debut of Lakshya and also features Ashish Vidyarthi and Harsh Chhaya. “Kill” is set to release in cinemas on July 4.
