Movie News: Recently, Sonakshi Sinha clarified the reason behind keeping her wedding simple but the reception big. She said she never bothered about the preparation pressures and wanted to enjoy the big day.
Sonakshi Sinha recently got married to her ‘Double XL’ co-star, Zaheer Iqbal. The two got hitched on June 23 in a very private affair at Sonakshi’s Mumbai residence. Post that, they had a grand reception where celebrities like Salman Khan, Rekha, Saira Banu, and Honey Singh graced the wedding reception. Sonakshi had once mentioned that she always wanted to have an uneventful, hassle-free wedding.
“We had each other, and this was something we’d wanted to do for a long time, and we knew exactly how we wanted it to be.” We wanted it small and intimate,” Sonakshi informed Bollywood Bubble.
Describing the day further, the ‘Dabangg’ star said, “I didn’t want to bear any tension, so my house was open. Everybody was coming and leaving while I got my hair and makeup done. Friends are chilling in the wardrobe, decorating, and cooking dinner. So it was like an open house, just the way I wanted my D-Day to be. It felt very cozy and wonderful. “It was perfect.”.
Sonakshi Sinha kept the wedding attire very comfortable and traditional. She preferred sarees over flash lehengas. She also used some of her mother’s old sarees and jewelry, which is quite commendable. For the reception, she wore a red banarasi saree with a gold border. She later changed into an anarkali dress.
While pondering over the decision regarding her clothes, Sonakshi said, “I dressed simply because I wanted to be comfortable and enjoy dancing the most at my wedding, which I did.”
Sonakshi and Zaheer have been quite vocal about their love on social media, ever since they tied the knot. The two recently flew off to the Philippines for their honeymoon. Sonakshi shared a picture from her vacation on Instagram, captioned, “Honeymoon round 2.”Now I’m just waiting for Zaheer Iqbal to arrive because we had to take separate flights.”
Zaheer said, “Deewana is on his way, baby (sic).”
Sonakshi and Zaheer earlier collaborated for the 2022 film Double XL.
