Movie News: Censor board has granted a U/A certificate for Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri starrer ‘Bad Newz’. While it has suggested no cuts, the board has asked the filmmakers to tweak a few scenes starring Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri.
The Censor Board for Film Certification has recently granted a U/A certificate to ‘Bad Newz’. It did not enforce big cuts in the final run but recommended a 27-second edit to three personal sequences starring Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the board did not ask for any scenes to be deleted but asked them to be smartly edited.
It allegedly asked for the “visual of lip-lock be modified” in three scenes of ten seconds, eight seconds and nine seconds. CBFC has also asked for some other minor changes like increasing the font size of the anti-alcohol disclaimer on the screen and replacing another disclaimer from the opening of the picture.
According to the censor certificate, the picture runs for 142 minutes. ‘Bad News’ is a romantic comedy which also stars Ammy Virk and Neha Dhupia. Interestingly, the trailer, songs, and other promotional materials focused on the strong chemistry between Vicky and Tripii, who had been paired for the first time on-screen.
‘Bad Newz’ is going to have an easy release at the box office, as ‘Sarfira’ is doing bad business, along with ‘Indian 2’, which is making zero efforts to lure audiences into Hindi theatres. The sole competition would be coming from ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, which is doing pretty well in its fourth week, especially in the Hindi belt.
The series has been directed by Anand Tiwari. ‘Bad News’ is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Anand Tiwari, Manish Meghnai of Amazon Prime, and Amritpal Singh Bindra of Leo Media Collective Pvt Ltd, ready for July 19 launch on Amazon Prime.
