Ajay Devgn’s crime drama film “Raid 2” from 2018 was a massive hit and is still considered one of his best movies. Now, the makers are bringing us the sequel, “Raid 2,” with Devgn reprising his iconic role. The first poster was recently unveiled along with the release date.
The new poster of “Raid 2” features the legs and boots of the main character, IRS Amay Patnaik, played by Ajay Devgn. The tagline, “Amay Patnaik is back,” promises the return of Devgn as an honest government official at odds with powerful politicians.
The shooting of “Raid 2” started on January 6th and will be extensively filmed in Mumbai, Delhi, and cities in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Produced by T-Series and Panorama Studios, the movie is backed by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar. It is scheduled to hit theaters on November 15th, 2024.
The original “Raid” is a 2018 crime drama directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, starring Ajay Devgn, Saurabh Shukla, Ileana D’Cruz, and others. The film revolves around IRS officer Amay Patnaik conducting an income-tax raid on a corrupt politician, inspired by the real-life account of Sardar Inder Singh in the 1980s in Madhya Pradesh.
After “Raid,” Ajay Devgn directed and starred in the action crime film “Bholaa,” a remake of the 2019 Tamil film “Kaithi.” Despite mixed reviews, it became a commercial success. Besides “Raid 2” Devgn is currently shooting for Rohit Shetty’s action cop film “Singham Again” and has upcoming projects like “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha,” “Shaitaan,” and the long-delayed “Maidaan.”
In 2022, he ventured into the OTT space with the web series “Rudra: The Edge of Darkness,” a remake of the British series “Luther.” Ajay Devgn continues to enjoy a busy and exciting time in the film industry with various intriguing projects in his pipeline.
