Ayodhya Temple Model: In the heart of Ayodhya, a surge in demand for wooden models of the grand Ram temple mirrors the city’s anticipation. These models, depicting the upcoming temple’s design, have become symbolic tokens for devotees eagerly awaiting its inauguration.
At workshops in Sahadatganj, artisans meticulously assemble these models, ranging from pocket-sized replicas to larger, intricate structures. Aditya Singh, owner of Awadh Aditya company, shares that demand has skyrocketed, especially for the smaller ‘pocket’ Ram temple models, measuring 4 inches in length, 2.5 inches in width, and 5 inches in height, priced at Rs 100 each.
The fervor extends beyond Ayodhya, with international orders streaming in. Singh reveals receiving requests from the US and New Zealand, underscoring the global resonance of the Ram temple project. The orders include models of varying sizes, with the largest costing Rs 8,000 each.
As Ayodhya prepares for the temple’s inauguration on January 22, shops along the iconic Ram Path proudly display these models, attracting devotees seeking a tangible connection to their faith. Hrithik Gupta from ‘Avadh Dharmik & Photo Framing’ affirms the widespread appeal, emphasizing the popularity of all sizes.
The surge in demand is not limited to wooden models alone. ‘Jai Shri Ram’ rings, keychains, bracelets, and religious statues are flying off the shelves. Gupta notes that anything bearing the words ‘Ram ka Naam’ is currently highly sought after.
Over one lakh devotees are expected in Ayodhya for the temple’s pran pratishtha, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The booming demand is not confined to Ayodhya Temple Model, with bulk orders pouring in from various states. Despite logistical constraints, the craftsmen are working diligently to fulfill the orders.
The models, crafted from pinewood MDF sheets imported from New Zealand, are intricately assembled using laser-cutting technology. The models symbolize not just a physical representation of the upcoming temple but also a tangible expression of devotion for millions eagerly awaiting its completion.
As the city prepares for the historic moment, these wooden replicas serve as more than mere souvenirs—they embody the collective spirit and fervent anticipation of devotees awaiting the realization of the grand Ram temple.
