Andhra Pradesh latest news : In Visakhapatnam, YSRCP faced a severe setback. 12 corporators of Maha Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC) left the party, seven joined TDP and five joined Jana Sena. Efforts made by YSRCP leaders to prevent the corporators from passing were in vain. Former minister Amarnath met with them and asked them not to leave the party but to no avail.
The corporators said that they left the party after the people won the elections with huge majorities and sent YSRCP home. An induction program was held in the TDEPA office of Visakha district on Sunday. In the presence of MP Sribharat, MLAs Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Velagapudi Ramakrishnababu, Vamsikrishna Srinivas, Visakha Constituency TDE President Gandi Babji and former MLA Pila Govinda Satyanarayana, TDE State President Palla Srinivasa Rao invited the corporators to join the alliance parties.
Later, he promised to provide development and welfare regime together with the MLAs. Palla Srinivasa Rao reminded on this occasion that the previous YSRCP government put pressure on TDP members in many ways and included them in that party. Now they have made it clear that they have not put any such pressure on anyone and there will be no problem for the old people in Tedepa with the arrival of the new ones. It has been revealed that the development of the city of Visakha is their mission, and for that they have taken the undisputed YSRCP corporators into the alliance. He said that there will be a decision on the removal of the mayor from the corporation soon.
