It has warned that there is a chance of heavy to very heavy rains in AP and Telangana due to the effect of the surface trough formed in the Bay of Bengal.

Heavy rains will occur in Telugu states due to surface circulation formed in West Bengal and Bangladesh region. The cyclone is centered at an altitude of 5.8 km above sea level near Gangtok, West Bengal, Jharkhand and North Odisha.

Meteorological officials said that the influence of this trough is continuing from North and South Rayalaseema to the Comorin region through interior Tamil Nadu at a height of 0.9 km above the mean sea level. Yellow alert has been issued in many districts of Telangana due to the impact of this drone. Heavy rains are expected in many districts today. Adilabad, Komurambhim Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagitala, Rajanna Sirisilla, Mahabubnagar, Vanaparthi, Jayashankar Bhupalapalli, Muluga, Bhadradri Kodiyapadi The department said.

The IMD has forecast light showers in the south coast and light to moderate rain or thundershowers in Rayalaseema.
