Andhra Pradesh latest news : After the defeat in the general elections held in AP, the YCP is facing a series of setbacks . Today, another setback occurred in Guntur district, which is crucial for that party.
The key leader who was an MLA in the party till yesterday and is currently looking after the responsibilities of the city party said goodbye today. He made it clear in the letter sent to the leader YS Jagan that he is resigning from YCP.
Maddali Giri, who won as Guntur West MLA from TDP in 2019 election, defected to YCP after the party did not come to power. Later he continued as YCP MLA. But before the last assembly elections, he was expected to return the same seat, but the party leadership shocked him. Guntur West seat was allotted to the then Minister Vidada Rajan who was MLA from Chilakaluripet. Dissatisfied with this, Giridhar was later appointed as the President of Guntur City YCP.
However, he said goodbye to YCP in view of the change of party in the state and the developments taking place in Guntur district. In a letter sent to YS Jagan, Maddali Giri revealed that she is resigning from the party and the post of Guntur city president due to personal reasons. There are chances that he will soon return to TDP fold. Belonging to the crucial Vaishya social group, Maddali Giri had good connections with the business community. It remains to be seen whether TDP will include Giri in this context.
