Nepal, NRI latest news : Shaurya Airlines plane crashed in Nepal on Wednesday.
This plane, which was supposed to go to Pokhara from Tribhuvan Airport in Kathmandu, crashed during take-off. Nepal Civil Aviation Authority announced that 18 people died in this incident. One pilot survived.
According to Shaurya Airlines, there were 19 people on board when the accident occurred. An official of Shaurya Airlines told ‘BBC Nepali’ that they were all flight crew and airline employees. There were no passengers. Photos being shared on social media show the plane on fire and smoke on the runway.
Ambulances and fire engines reached the spot immediately after the accident. Nepali Army has sent its team to participate in relief activities. A police officer involved in relief efforts told the BBC that some bodies were found at the crash site. Kathmandu Post revealed that the dead bodies have been recovered from the accident site. A few years ago, a Bangladeshi passenger plane crashed at Tribhuvan Airport, killing dozens of passengers.
The pilot survived : Spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Police Office Dineshraj Mainali revealed that they received information about the plane crash at 11:15. They said that a pilot was rescued from the burning plane and he was immediately shifted to the Kathmandu Medical College Teaching Hospital.
