The VP of the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Chamber and a senior TDP leader Anepu Ramakrishna appealed to MHRD and IT Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Lokesh for the establishment of government degree college at Burja. He revealed that more than a thousand students are compelled to go to Palakonda or Amadalavalasa to further their education when the intermediate courses are completed. Following that, Mr. Ramakrishna visited Mr. Lokesh in Vijayawada and informed him of the challenges faced by the students.
He noted that the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government did not respond to the request to upgrade the Burja intermediate college to a degree college. As a result, many girl students have had to stop their studies because there is no nearby degree college. Mr. Ramakrishna emphasized that establishing a degree college in Burja would benefit students from several remote areas in the mandal.
