Andhra Pradesh latest news : The central government has given another big good news for the state of Andhra Pradesh . Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that Rs.9,151 crore has been allocated for railways in Andhra Pradesh this year.
It has been increased ten times than the allocation in the UPA government. He disclosed this in a media conference organized in Delhi on the allocation of railways to Telugu states in the central budget.
He clarified that the railway project work is going on in the state with a total of Rs.73,743 crores. He said that 73 railway stations are being developed under the Amrit scheme. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that 100 percent railways have been electrified in AP as well. He clarified that the Central Government is committed to the development of AP Railway.
The Union Minister said that the work of Amaravati Railway project is in progress. He said that 743 underpasses and overbridges have been constructed in AP in ten years. The state government has been asked to allot other land for the railway as there are problems in land acquisition for the South Coast Railway zone. The Union Minister said that discussions were also held recently on land allocation for railways.
Ashwini Vaishnav revealed that the 56 km project connecting Amaravati will be started at a cost of Rs 2,047 crore. It has been mentioned that a railway line will be established via Errupalem-Kondapally-Nambur. Niti Aayog has approved the DPR on railway works. Further, the Railway Minister made it clear that the Center is committed to the development of Amaravati and Vijayawada railway stations.
The Union Minister answered the questions asked by MPs Keshineni Chinni and CM Ramesh in the Lok Sabha on railway projects in AP. On the other hand, Vijayawada Railway DRM Narendra Patil said that the central government has given green signal to the final location survey for the construction of railway line between Machilipatnam and Narsapur under Vijayawada Railway Division.
